Glass partitions for schools, colleges and universities

Glass lets staff see into study rooms and breakout spaces while keeping noise contained. Education projects usually run in holiday windows, so planning and lead times matter as much as the product.

  • Group study rooms and library pods
  • Staff offices with clear sightlines for supervision
  • Robust laminated glass in busy corridors
  • Installation planned around term dates

Questions

Are framed glass partitions cheaper than frameless?

Usually, yes. The frame lets us use thinner glass and absorbs small variations in the building, so both materials and fitting time come down. On a typical office the saving is in the region of 15 to 25 percent.

Can a framed partition be moved later?

Most framed systems can be taken down and refitted with new glass sizes. If you expect to reconfigure regularly, a demountable system is designed specifically for that.

Does a freestanding glass office need its own ceiling?

If you want sound privacy, yes. An open-top pod is cheaper but sound travels over the walls. A lid also gives somewhere to fix lighting and ventilation.

How do you ventilate a small glass office?

Through the existing ceiling ventilation if the room reaches it, or with a ducted or acoustic transfer vent if the pod has its own ceiling. We coordinate this with your M&E contractor.
